TOM DOYLE, EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN
Tom brings to Star Analytics more than 35 years of chief executive and senior operations experience, working with leading technology companies like Tandem Computers, Broadbase Software, Kana Software and Skybox Security. He has also served on the Board of Directors of multiple early-stage companies.
Most recently, Tom was CEO of Skybox Security, a leading security risk management software provider. Joining Skybox in 2006, Tom grew the company’s year-over-year revenues over 100% and established the company as a market leader in the space.
Previously, Tom served as President and COO of KANA Software, a leading CRM software company. Tom led KANA’s worldwide sales, support and service efforts and created a highly successful partner-focused business model. Prior to assuming the role of President and COO, Tom was Executive Vice President of Sales and Operations for Broadbase Software (acq. By KANA) and helped lead the company through a successful IPO in 1999.
Prior to KANA, Tom held a series of sales management and operations positions at Tandem Computers through its acquisition by Compaq Computer. Tom holds a BS in Finance from the University of Missouri.
QUINLAN EDDY, FOUNDER & CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Quinlan began his career in financial and consolidations systems at Citibank as a financial analyst in Singapore where he pioneered the use of Essbase for Citicorp as a corporate standard. He joined Arbor Software in 1994, prior to its IPO and subsequent merger with Hyperion Solutions. At Arbor, Quinlan served many different roles in pre and post sales consulting, quality assurance and as Channel Sales Manager, North Pacific Rim where he managed sales and services for over 320 customers. In 1998 he founded OLAP Online, a consulting company based in Tokyo, Japan. Since then he has been one of the leading consultants in the Hyperion BPM market. He has over 15 years of experience with the Hyperion product suite, and has provided consulting services to over 80 companies in 11 countries. He holds five Business Intelligence-related professional certifications and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Vermont.
STEFFEN FREDERIKSEN, VP ENGINEERING
Steffen is a seasoned software technology expert, with a significant track record of managing software engineering teams for a number of Silicon Valley startup companies. As a manager, employee, or independent consultant he has been a key contributor and driving force behind many products and technology components, mainly in the fields of data communications, local area networks and digital security. Prior to joining Star Analytics, he co-founded SeqID, a company delivering digital certificate management to US and global clients. Prior to SeqID, he co-founded Acotec, Inc., an industry leader in remote access management solutions to the corporate world. Among the many projects he has been involved with, he was responsible for inventing Internet LanBridge, one of the first products for sharing Internet connections among many users. He holds a BSEE from the Danish Engineering Academy in Copenhagen, Denmark.
TOM TORTOLANI, VP PRODUCTS
Tom has over 20 years of software product management experience, delivering market leading reporting and analysis product and solutions to the office of the CFO. At Star Analytics, Tom is responsible for defining product strategy, identifying market and customer requirements, and bringing new products to market. Tom's foray into the software industry started at Pilot Executive Software/Thorn EMI Computer Software where he drove decision support system implementations, and multi-dimensional data analysis product requirements. He was among the first 10 employees at a true valley success story, Hyperion Solutions/Arbor Software. Tom was a key contributor to the creation of the BI and OLAP industry, successfully managing multiple product lines and more than 20 product releases of the Essbase product family. Recently Tom was the VP of Product Management at Aceva Technologies, where he drove the product vision and requirements for their leading edge Credit and Collections software that were acquired by Sungard. Tom is the primary inventor on US patent 6,317,750 for advanced multi-dimensional navigational techniques and holds a BA degree in Economics from Bowdoin College.
BOB JOHANSEN, SENIOR DIRECTOR SALES
Bob Johansen brings more than 20 years of sales and business development software industry experience. At Star Analytics Bob is responsible for driving revenue growth and new customer acquisition through both the direct and indirect channels. Bob’s entry into the software industry began on the technical side with Informix as a presales engineer and quickly progressed to management positions responsible for ISV technical account management and business development. With the acquisition of Informix by IBM in 2000, Bob assumed a role as part of the integration team where he developed and executed the strategy for assimilation of the Informix ‘value added’ partner business into the IBM Channels group. At the same time, he led the IBM Information Management Group’s WW ISV Business Development team to close over 60 new partner contracts resulting in over 100% attainment with $203M in revenue. Most recently he was responsible for Strategic ISV revenues, across multiple industries, including Business Intelligence in North and South America where he consistently overachieved revenue targets.
